Welcome …

Hi, my name is Kail, and I live in Harrow, NW London. One of my previous jobs required me to work and travel abroad from time to time, luckily it meant I came into contact with Tai-Chi and Qigong in Beijing and Hong Kong; in the many exquisite parks out there.

I had trained in Yoga, Tai-Chi and the Japanese martial arts of Shorinji Kempo and Karate for many years, before finding a profound harmony and affinity with Qigong. I have trained in Qigong for over ten years now, at various schools. I find it excellent for maintaining my physical and mental health, including better flexibility, fitness, strength and raised energy levels. As an integrated, holistic health and wellbeing routine, I find it extremely powerful and effective.

Some years ago, before commencing Qigong, I had early stages of osteoarthritis, due to the high-impact workout of the martial arts I believe, for which medical consultants were only able to prescribe painkillers, which personally I didn’t take; around nine months later however, my problems seemed to totally disappear, and have remained so, with the Qigong classes being the only difference to my routine; this quite amazed me, and I have sought then to learn more and seek to share this with others, so they can also understand this wonderfully-therapeutic art form.

I am also a fully qualified and licensed Clinical Hypnotherapist; which means I can add extra value and depth to the guided visualisation part, after the Qigong set. I am a member of top hypnotherapy organisations, the GHR and CNHC, and also an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), and while not medically-trained, I have kept an interest in orthodox medical research over the years. I do not give any medical advice of course, that’s for your GP, but I am continually fascinated by the Mind-Body connection, as more and more research shows just how powerful it is. I have also formally studied Anatomy and Physiology, and am a qualified Emergency First Aider.

I am a licensed Meditation Teacher, with Zen Meditation as my speciality; this is done in a totally secular way, i.e. with no religious aspects, it is purely for promoting better health and mind-body integration; other meditation techniques offer similar benefits, of course. I am also trained in the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Acupressure and also in the fine art of Shiatsu (Japanese body massage), which we do not practise in our class. As a dedicated holistic health therapist, I keep my knowledge and skills up to date to share the latest in the industry, where scientific and empirical evidence shows efficacy.

I am registered with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and abide by their Codes of Conduct and Professional Practice (a link is included in the Links & Sources page). Being a licensed instructor {with the International Taiji & Qigong Federation (ITQF) Level 2 and the Qigong-Tai-Chi Training Academy} allows me to provide this most wonderful of mind-body systems to the general public at select clubs, parks and venues.

I genuinely love and enjoy taking these classes; the participants are all wonderfully encouraging and dedicated, which makes it easier for me. Being a Qigong trainer is very rewarding in terms of the appreciable benefit it gives to most people; it certainly has for me.

What I offer you:-

A very open, friendly, safe, dedicated practice where you can relax in a calm atmosphere with others, letting the cares of your world melt away for this period.

Clear guidance on how to use the techniques and explain their potential benefits, such as correct stances, body alignment, motion and balance. Review your technique and progress when necessary.

Possibly a chance for self-discovery, to see and feel from within you who you are now, your values and ambitions and what your changing needs may be – insights into all of these can often arise during these sessions, and with the calm, clear thinking and feeling this practice encourages, it can give you a renewed sense of purpose and self-belief in your life and dreams.

Follow all relevant Health and Safety Guidelines and be concerned for your health, safety and well-being.

Adherence to the Equality and Diversity policy (see Code of Ethics), ensuring that all participants’ rights to privacy, dignity, and cultural differences are respected and everyone is treated equitably.

Answer any questions or concerns you may have, including after the session and at other times, and to provide you with total support, encouragement and commitment to your health and wellbeing.

Do get in touch if there is anything you need to ask or clarify on the training and sessions.
